"The parties have agreed to increase gas supplies to Poland and to extend the current contract until 2037," the gas monopolists said in a joint news release.

They said they have also settled a dispute over EuRoPol GAZ"s gas transit fees and management.

Earlier, Polish Deputy Prime Minister Waldemar Pawlak pointed to a lack of agreement on tariffs for EuRoPol GAZ, which operates the Polish sector of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline, pumping west Siberian gas.

The agreements will come into effect after the two governments have signed the relevant documents.

Gazprom board deputy chairman Alexander Medvedev said on Monday the Russian gas monopoly might agree with Poland to increase natural gas supplies to 11 billion cubic meters from the current 8 bcm annually from 2010.

Poland consumes some 14 bcm of natural gas annually, of which it itself produces some 30%. Russian gas accounts for 92% of the Central European country"s gas imports.
